Keymaker is a small utility available on Windows 98 that makes it possible to generate keys and passwords. The application makes it convenient for users to generate keys for files that they are encrypting.
Compared to generating your own passwords, KeyMaker creates simple yet complex passwords that hinder all brute force or dictionary password searches. The application safely stores generated passwords and restore them when needed later on.
The application isn't subject to the same security issues that other key-generating software succumbs to. Since there's no link between the stored passwords and the keys you personally use, it's difficult for hackers to force their way into the software.
Moreover, all passwords are protected with sophisticated encryption, which is safeguarded against most spyware applications.
Users should be aware that Keymaker doesn't feature any customer support. If you encounter a problem during normal operation, it could be difficult to retrieve a locked password.
